A Very Venture Bros. Halloween

Woot. I am excited about this. With a good two years between seasons, new Venture Bros. is always exciting. I've been watching season 3-4 at a friend's house recently, since he hadn't seen them yet. The second disc of season 4 is pretty astonishingly good tv. The new season should start in January or February, and there's still a 90-minute special of unknown content yet to come. Yaaaay.

The situation at the end of season 4: (Spoilers!)

* Hank seems to have mostly gone back to the status quo, but Dean appears to be going off in an odd direction.
* #21 has probably joined Sphinx, which makes me wonder if they'll whip him into real shape.
* The head of OSI has, eh, departed, and Hunter Gathers has been pushed into his place. Those two agents have been outed as looking to take over OSI, and Sky Pilot was a spy for OSI. How all this will fall into place, regarding Sphinx and OSI is unknown. Where Brock will end up is the most important question.
* Molotov Cocktease seems to have fallen to her death. I can't believe she'd just kill herself like that. On the other hand, it was pretty blatant, with Brock watching the whole thing, and I can't think of a way out... Her Blackhearts are most definitely dead, after not having really done anything since their first appearance a season earlier.
* #24's ghost was not haunting #21, after all, it seems.
* Torrid seems to be dead. I kind of wanted to see him do more, after first appearing back in season 2, but oh well.
* Triana Orpheus was written out and back in this season, after barely appearing in the last two seasons. I hope she sticks around, as she is the most normal character in the series and gives it an anchor.
* Sgt. Hatred seems to be sticking around, possibly with a new identity. (Sgt. VD?) He has reconciled with Princess Tiny Feet, so she may become a regular character now too. After first appearing at the end of season 2, she's been a tangential character who still hasn't had a line.
* On a related topic, Triana's mother has finally appeared in the final episode, after first being mentioned way back at the beginning of season 1. I wonder if she'll get a speaking role in the new season, too. Apparently she doesn't live too far away.
* The Master just seemed like a jerk, but after he manipulated Triana in season 4, I wonder if he has some ulterior motive.
* The Revenge Society gets a visit from Dr. Henry Killinger in the deleted scenes of their episode, which bodes well for their future. I liked Baron Underbheit in season 1 and was sad when they wrote him out, claiming they didn't know how to make him funny, so I'm glad he's back.
* Speaking of characters that were mostly written out, poor Helper has mostly vanished from the show, even after getting a big role at the end of season 3, then being rebuilt into a walking eye in season 4. He only appeared three times in season 4. Where is the Helper that used to get abused in almost every single episode?
* In Ladle to the Grave: The Shallow Gravy Story, Dr. Venture figures out who Dermott is. I'm not sure if this will change anything or not.

I think that's the major stuff...

tv, venture bros.
