SXSW, part 1
SXSW is here again and I'm doing my best to participate. Last year I was unemployed, so I volunteered and generally networked and enjoyed myself.

Repo! The Genetic Opera
New post as I test out this app on my iPhone. As per usual, it's been awhile. However, there is something cool I must talk about.
That thing is the movie 'Repo! The Genetic Opera'. For those who like musicals, it has Sarah Brightman. For those who like Buffy, it has Anthony Stewart Head. A rock musical with gore and a comic book asthetic. Doesn't ( Read more... ) -

I love it. It's been awhile since I've been in a town long enough to accumulate the local knowlege as well as who knows what else that causes random things start happening to me. Atlanta, well.. Middleman reference
From this past monday, the title character mentions 1.21 gigwatts. The next screen mentions the number 88.
Obscure reference, but the fact they made it is awesome. Plus they mention Van Cleef and Snake Plisken (with a character dressed as him). Last ep they mentioned Leftbridge Stewart. Other awesome in it's own right, for those Doctor Who -
In terms of Master Plans
I was reading a Master Plan recently and it struck a chord. (Found here.) I know all these creative people. (yes, all of you online) And I seem to have a fair amount of connections here in town with film and other media. With all of that, surely I can come up with, or coordinate an awesome online project. Doctor Who and work
So I was thinking about a recent Doctor Who episode I saw recently. (England is a couple episodes ahead of us and I'm been trying to catch them) In the trailer for the season finale they show pictures of Martha Jones, of the Torchwood gang, and even Sarah Jane Smith. Mini-Update
I've mentioned this in passing to some folks, but I have a job until the end of May. I'm officially an Asst. Prop Master on this Independent film. Long hours and low pay, but it's interesting so far. Keeping me hella busy, though. More details may follow if I have time ( Read more... )
