So today was my third sick day (okay, so Tuesday was technically half a sick day) thanks to this stomach bug. It just is moving really slowly through my system. I am going in tomorrow, I'm scheduled to do DIBELS and DRAs, so I already have a sub lined up. My right eyelid is swollen. Well, not the actual eyelid, the part that runs from the crease of my eye to my eyebrow, mostly in the inner corner. It's not swollen such that I can't open my eye, but it's enough that when I got home from work yesterday and looked in the mirror, I went, "What the hell's wrong with my eye?" I know I always get thrown for a loop whenever we have to change the clocks, but I don't think it's all about the time change. I feel crappy. Sleep has been crappy for a few days now, my throat is sore, I have the sniffles, and I generally just want to stay in bed for a day. I feel like I haven't slept more than 20 hours total over the course of the week. For some reason, though I'm not officially allergic to anything, I'm having allergies (stuffy nose, sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, coughing) because there's so much pollen in the air AND I've been breathing in a lot of dust and stuff at the house. Yeah, so I've had this sore throat and part-time earache for about 3 days now, and when I investigated with the flashlight I decided my throat looked rather yucky. Mom agreed. So I went to the doctor's this evening, and after waiting for over an hour to see the doctor he determined that it looks like the beginnings of strep. They did a culture ( Read more... )
