OMG PAIN!

We didn't have school just at Fairley on Wednesday. Joe Occhino passed away over Easter weekend, and since he was the principal for YEARS easily 75% of the faculty and staff wanted to go to his funeral and they just didn't have enough subs sooo....

It was a fairly productive day for me. I had initially planned on going into school for a couple hours and working in my room, but instead I went to Great Northern and did some speed shopping. I had a couple discount cards to a couple places that expire on the 31st and I knew I wasn't going to be going shopping this weekend. Plus it's been a while since I've just bopped around for myself. So I went to VS and bought one of the new Body by Victoria Biofit bras (sooooo comfy, plus with $10 it was reasonable), then to Bath and Body Works and bought a birthday present for Sue and a tropical orange flower flavored candle in a jar shaped like an orange. Also bought new sunglasses for cheap at H&M to replace the ones I lost when we went snowshoeing in Vermont. Then I went to Pier 1 to use the last$5 on the gift card from Sue and Dave, and found a pretty little square dish with Japanese plum blossoms on it - it's actually apparently safe for daily use with meals, but I thought it'd be a pretty decorative coffee table piece.

I met Aaron at Oswego Quality Carpets around lunchtime and we picked out tile we like. We have a gap between the old tile and the bottoms of the cabinets, so we're pulling up a ring of tiles just around the "C" part of the kitchen, and we're going to put down dark brown tile to accent the new cabinets, and they also match the countertop I'm going to get. After that I came home, had lunch, cleaned up my room, and worked on the lesson plan assignment for my class, and made chicken soup. Then I started getting a splitting headache that was not relieved by either Advil or food. Despite this I went over to the house after dinner and helped Aaron pull up more tile. I now saw grout and use a cold chisel in addition to my other renovation abilities.

Woke up yesterday morning feeling like absolute shit - stuffy, sore throat, tummy ache AND a worse splitting headache than the night before. I thought I could suffer through, but it wasn't going to happen. It was a migraine and it wanted to eat my brain. There was a dearth of subs yesterday, so the best Amy could do was get Sue and Carri to tag team my class for the afternoon. Sue picked them up from lunch and did intervention with them, then dropped them at library, and then Carri picked them up from library and did the end of the day stuff with them. I told the kids in the morning that I wasn't feeling good, though I didn't mention my headache, just that I had a bad cold. But it was brutal trying to stay peppy and focused. Anytime I moved quicker than a snail's pace I got dizzy, and stupidly jumped along with the kids when we were counting by twos by jumping to count our feet. I felt like I could vomit by lunchtime. I spent about 20 minutes in the dark after I dropped them off to lunch getting stuff ready for Sue and Carri, and I drove relatively slowly on the way home. As soon as I got home I had lunch, took Advil, put on my fuzzy pants and my sleep mask, got in bed, and ended up crashing for 3 hours. Those of you know know me know that I never sleep in the middle of the day, and this was hitting REM kind of sleep. But when I woke up my headache was gone.

Oh, and our appliances come next Thursday.:)
