So we have all but two cabinets placed now, although the pantry cabinet isn't screwed into the wall yet. It's really coming along in the kitchen. This weekend we finished painting the walls, ran the wire for the oven, put in all the base cabinets, fixed the pipes for under the sink, hooked the dishwasher back up (prolly won't use it, but at least we can put the dirty dishes in there again!), and ordered the countertop!!! Hopefully we'll get the floor tile the end of the week, and if the countertop installers can come this week to do the computer template, we'll be able to have them installed the week after we get back from New York.
Yeah, so we're going to Manhattan for spring break this year. Leaving Sunday the 13th, planning to take the train out of Albany because Susan asked me to be Sara's godmother, and her baptism is on Sunday, so we'll spend Friday through Sunday in Schuylerville. We found a
hotel that isn't too expensive but got really good reviews on both Expedia and Travelocity, and we're going to get the CityPass, which for $65 will get us admission to the Met, the MoMa, the Museum of Natural History, the Guggenheim Museum, the Empire State Building Observatory, and the Circle Line sightseeing cruise. We'll also get a 15% discount coupon good at 10 or 12 of the restaurants in the
Patina Group family of restaurants. I think there's also discounts at some of the museum gift shops, and there's a discount thing for lunch and shopping at Bloomingdale's. AND we've got tickets to see "The Lion King." When Aaron said we'd go to a Broadway show, I immediately thought of Les Mis, which was enjoying a revival, but it closed in January. SO CLOSE!!!! Aaron said that if he'd known we would've gone before the show closed, but oh well! I can hope that it will return to Broadway someday.
Cool huh? Of course, if anyone has been to NYC or lives there and has some suggestions for places to get breakfast around the Park Avenue intersection of 31st Street (our hotel is on 31st about a block or two east of Park Ave.), lunch and reasonably priced dinner, please suggest away!
