This weekend was Interviewing the Candidates for the NY 23rd district.  One of them, Ian Golden came in early from Ithaca, so he held a meet and greet at a local bar from 6PM to 8PM.  It lasted until 8:30, then they took him down the street to the Contra dance where he apparently danced until 10:30 at which point he went out to eat with more locals ( Read more... )

Friday Night: My wife and I attended a political meeting in Westfield.  ChautAction is co-ordinating efforts to lobby the county legislature to pass a resolution opposing any cuts to the Great Lakes Initiative.  We were representing Chautauqua County Women's Action Group.  I'm actually the new webmaster.  County ( Read more... )

I had my broken tooth pulled on Monday.  It's a joy being able to simply brush your teeth and not have to floss for half an hour trying to get food out from inside the gap.  On the down side, I haven't been allowed to eat anything chewy, like steak, or anything with particles in it, like seeds for a week to give the gum time to heal.   I've been ( Read more... )

I now know whether it's possible to OD on blacksmithing.  Yes, apparently 16 hours out of 48 is way past my limit.  This past weekend was Maker Faire at the Buffalo Museum of Science. Thursday, April 7th -- I have some vacation time coming, so I took two days off to make it a long, long weekend.  I could really get used to sleeping in after four consecutive days of it.  Most of Thursday was spent doing the sort of errand running we normally do on weekends, including a shopping trip.
