i keep meaning to post a link to this band - casa verde - we got to catch twice while we were in mexico. they were a lot of fun to hear, and now that we have about a foot of snow outside, it's especially appealing to escape into my mexico memories.

at work, i am one of the system managers for a patient/reporting system. even though i express frustration at times to others here about how the program managers on the product's end handle my issues, or system limitations, i try to be nice/understanding with our service manager, because i would hate his job: dealing with multiple clients' issues ( Read more... )

i was tagged by algorythms several days ago, but am just finally catching up on LJ and life now. we had lots of family visiting for thanksgiving and an engagement party. all told, the visit went well. it was crowded at times and a few fits were thrown, but we all came out of it smiling.

there's a video on YouTube of the Asylum Street Spankers doing one of their songs.

the spankers are great with showmanship and wit (and darn good players, too). they played this when we saw them somewhat erecntly in the city, but seeing them in costumes takes it to a whole new level.

i just finished reading a book i chose at random from the library: The curious incident of the dog in the night-time. i really enjoyed it, actually, and i recommend it. it's written in the voice of an autistic 15-year-old boy, and i particularly loved reading his take on society, strangers, etc. perhaps it's because i can definitely be socially ( Read more... )
