we're going to a friend's son's 2nd birthday party today. i asked, and learned he's fond of trains. apparently, tomas the train is big. however, i soon imagined that he probably already owns many tomas the train components, so instead we ordered 2 gifts from tin toy arcade (namely, a rocket and a train). by the way, i highly recommend their service ( Read more... )

okay, i admit it. i have an LJ-crush on vern0n.

there's a video on YouTube of the Asylum Street Spankers doing one of their songs.

the spankers are great with showmanship and wit (and darn good players, too). they played this when we saw them somewhat erecntly in the city, but seeing them in costumes takes it to a whole new level.

i've been somewhat stalking the robyn hitchcock website to check whether he's gotten around to posting fall tour dates. he's skipped the northeast the last time or 2 he was stateside, and this made me sad. in fact, i was getting prepared to pen a missive to him regarding his promise he's be coming around more frequently because "we needed him" ( ( Read more... )

ever wondered what happened to this work in progress?

well, i can finally share pictures, as the recipient has received the baby blanket. this blanket may look very familiar, as i made another collaborative one with friends for another new mother earlier this year.
