at work, i am one of the system managers for a patient/reporting system. even though i express frustration at times to others here about how the program managers on the product's end handle my issues, or system limitations, i try to be nice/understanding with our service manager, because i would hate his job: dealing with multiple clients' issues all day.
we've been emailing back and forth about an issue, and in his response was this:
Once I was designated Service Manager of your facility, [old Service Manager name] informed me that the only time you call is when you have a real concern, and that most of the time I would need to elevate the concern to the next level of support.
He also stated that you were one of his favorite people to work with, and also that you, out of all his client's, were the most informed user for the functionality that you use. So he spoke, and still speaks, very highly of you. I just thought I would share that tidbit of information with you.
it definitely brightened my day, as i was out way too late last night and have been feeling a bit fuzzy-headed for the past few days (had a migraine Tuesday night).
however: i was out late for a good reason last night. Robyn Hitchcock & the Venus 3 played at the Knitting Factory. they were great, but i've come to the conclusion that the venue sucks. so stuffy, so mall/crowded, no ventilation, wobbly floor, and the lights are set up to shine right in the crowd's eyes. no wonder i passed out there once.
i bought a t-shirt. it was green - i couldn't resist. Peter Buck was right there and had just asked the merch girl for a sharpie. i could have had him sign my shirt, but i am a wuss about speaking to artists i like. i should have at least thanked him for 1) being in REM, my favorite band of my youth, and 2) collaborating on some earlier Robyn albums. if it weren't for that association and my Columbia House membership in middle school, it would have taken me a lot longer to discover one my very favorite musicians.
compliments,
music
