I'm making cupcakes for our Christmas dinner desert, I was wondering which is better, making them Christmas eve and then storing them, or make them Christmas morning then store them?

Also, which way is best to store cupcakes, fridge? or out in the open?

If it makes a difference, The icing will be cream cheese icing.

I'm planning to make cupcakes this weekend to go with some other baked stuff as Christmas gifts, but I'm stumped as to how to decorate them.

At this stage, I'm planning to make butter cake, but the flavour is certainly adaptable.

Any suggestions on decorations? I'm open to just about anything :)

I've never baked red velvet cupcakes and am looking to make my first attempt. I've come across so many recipes that I'm not sure which one to use. My friend told me that there are good recipes and "not so good" recipes for red velvet cupcakes. If you know of one that you've tried that is AMAZING, please share! :D

So I'm baking cupcakes from scratch and I was wondering if I could substitute yogurt for water or something. I don't want to use it instead of oil/butter because that would make it yucky.
Whats the best way to do this or is this just not a good idea?
