We have almost dug ourselves out from the veritable mountain of submissions to the Any Previous Genre issue. Wow, people - we are just flabbergasted. We surpassed our previous highest submission total by forty-three percent. 43. Point-nine, to be exact. Unbelievable.

What an exhausting weekend. Fortunately it was a good one this year for us. Not terribly stressful. Worked off a lot of tension and energy playing the new Wii (our 3-year-old son’s pretty good at it. Who knew?).

This blog has become severely neglected recently. I’m very sorry for that - this season does create chaos. I’ll be so glad when it’s over. But I would anticipate updates staying sporadic until January.

Yesterday I finalized the print, pdf, Kindle and prc editions of Issue 13. Who’s awesome? That’s right.

Progress is progressing!

The print edition of Issue 12 is done! The 2nd proof arrived yesterday, and Kay and I both went through it with a fine-toothed comb for any little errors. Then I fixed up what we found, and today I converted the file to PDF, uploaded it and submitted for the third time.

We’re still waiting to hear back from a couple of writers about the edits to their stories. Even though we’re still okay for time *knock wood* I’m getting a bit antsy. Want to put this puppy to bed so I can focus on the other editions. I did finalize a couple more of the stories, and I added them to the issue document. I also got a couple bios I ( Read more... )

I spent this evening creating ads from the issue 12 cover art. It’s gorgeous, and crops down to size well. Of course, I was supposed to use that time to edit. I fail at editing today.

I was plenty busy, with emails, dealing with slush, and reading. I’m still working on reading a novel submission; I’m maybe halfway through it now. Still quite good.
