So very proud of Shrek, who achieved a declared goal by riding in his first horse show last weekend. There was the requisite behind-the-scenes drama, as the horse he had learned to ride on, had been riding since last summer, and had bonded very strongly with, left the barn rather suddenly three weeks ago. jpgr joined us at the barn today, and happily documented the thriving pony that is our Felix. You may remember he came to us in May rather than become dinner for the lions at the Bronx Zoo. He was underweight, shaggy, underloved, and lonely. He's had lots of love, grooming, hay, grass and feed since then, and now he looks lovely. He's giving ( Read more... )

Today was my day to work at the barn. We had a dusting of snow so everything looked pretty.

Once there, I celebrated miss_daizy's birthday by holding a pony while he had his behind clipped. ( Seriously. )
