So I've been trying to track down a couple of books for a class I'm teaching in the next couple of weeks, right? And I was getting frustrated because they were not in my work library, and I need to renew my access to the U of C libraries before I can check books out again. Did you guys have a good labor day weekend? I did. Cleaned a bit, read a new book (Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters, which I loved all to pieces; her period details are wonderful), wandered around the neighborhood and hit the farmer's market. A book I've started reading (Nature By Design: People, Natural Process, and Ecological Restoration, by Eric Higgs) used a Wordsworth quote from a poem I've always liked. So I'm sharing it here. Reading this review/interview with John Haught on Salon, I can't quite decide whether I want to read his book. But he makes some interesting points in the interview, and some that I'm not sure I agree with, and anyhow, it has certainly been food for thought.
