I finally gave in and went to the doctor about my injured hand, which hasn't healed in the slightest. She sent me in for x-rays, thinking that it may be fractured after all. I'll probably find out the results sometime tomorrow. In any case, she gave me methylprednisolone to see if we can't kickstart the healing process via cortical steroids. I can' ( Read more... )

I went to see a new rheumatologist today, and oh MAN do I like this woman. For one thing, she's funny, a total dork and has this big, horsey laugh. For another, she actually listened and asked questions and didn't just say "lol fibro, bitch" and blow me off like so many other doctors. Nope. I am full of pain and can't sleep, am still having dizzy spells, hallucinations and strange palpitations. I probably ought to try to go back to the doctor on Monday, but considering they've done fuck all for me so far, I'm not sure I want to waste my time and money. Mom had her own appointment this evening to see how her mastitis is doing. It's not good; she's still running a high fever and they don't know where the abscess is. She's having an ultrasound done next week and may have to have surgery to remove it if they can't reach the abscess otherwise. Please keep her in your thoughts and send good vibes ( Read more... )

Turns out I've got arthritis in my left hip, which I suggested as a possible cause for my pain months ago. I also have a cyst on my right ovary, and some loose fluid that's probably from a burst cyst, which explains my increase in cramp pain lately.
