I was goofing at work here looking over my old pictures on flickr and what did I find?
Way back when in 2004 I was at Khajuraho. I'd gotten up before the sun
(I'm dawn photo patrol type) and took a pedal rick to the temples
determined to be the first one into the site.
But there next to me at the gates was a film crew.

I figure I've posted enough Tamil Nadu South India temples, so a break from the temples. And its overwhelming, there are 100s and 100s and 100s of temples in Tamil Nadu. And I'm still going to post more later, but now a sort of break ( Read more... )

@ Kalinjar fort in the middle of Madhya Pradesh, the rock cut figure of the 18 armed Kal Bhairav, one of the many incarnations of Shiva. Its over 1000 years old and stands over 26 feet high cut into the sheer cliff. Carvings like this are called "living" because they coexist with natural forces, in this case, part of the giant rock hillside. (we ( Read more... )
