Apparently, Dallas and other parts of Texas have been hammered by severe weather. My flight from Seattle to Dallas (then DFW -> IAH) was delayed to the limit of the layover in Dallas (3 hours), and rumors were rife that it would be delayed further. In random news item 1: the Cincinnati Reds retain the lead of NL Central after defeating the Cardinals in their 2 game series. However, I still dislike the NLC as it always is a very competitive division (19-8 is only worth a 2 game lead over 2 teams). I discovered that the old $0.37 stamps still work through 1/8/06, which meant that I didn't have to waste 15min trying to buy $0.39 stamps, but I had no way to rectify this situation. Also, I learned that they are raising the post card rate, so I'll need to buy new stamps there too ( Read more... )
