Apparently, Dallas and other parts of Texas have been hammered by severe weather. My flight from Seattle to Dallas (then DFW -> IAH) was delayed to the limit of the layover in Dallas (3 hours), and rumors were rife that it would be delayed further. The line at American hadn't moved in an hour. People were being advised to call American and rebook, if they could get through. But a glimmer of hope. Continental was flying direct to Houston, one-way = $399.30. Maybe could switch my ticket. Maybe can get repayment from the cruise line (which booked the ticket).
So I flew on Continental, first class. I've never had the chance to sit in the wide leather seats, with room to stretch my legs so far. Or a snack that sufficed for a dinner. So I ate my meal and slept.
Now I wait for cruise representatives to take me away. And for my family to arrive, on a flight delayed 150 minutes. Never before have I longed for 80s and sun. Just take me away from the weather.
