I'm back from my first ever business trip! The flights were long, moreso with delays, but not too bad. The bosses picked our meals, which were all expensive and fancy and expensive. I guess it's true when people joke about spending a bit extra when you know the company's covering your expenses.

Life's been pretty good. My parents were over to visit for the weekend. We took in a few museums, but mostly just rested and relaxed. Dad and I did some crosswords and sudoku puzzles. Jasmine came back from the boarding place healthy and happy... and fat. They overfed my baby! ;_; She's going to be moody now that I have to put her on a diet. Unless I can find some food that's not very rich, and that she'll actually eat.

I'm back safely in Ottawa, and Jasmine and I are both back at the apartment. I had a safe and uneventful trip, kept from being boring by enjoyable conversation with the lady beside me. I'm pretty drained though, since I seem to have come down with some sort of nose cold. My nose is raw from all the blowing. I haven't even felt much like playing ( Read more... )

So yeah. I haven't been doing very well lately. The less said about that the better.

But things got better on the weekend. I was volunteering at the Engineers Without Borders fundraising garage sale. I'd forgotten how nice the world can be when you get up and get out early. I got up at 6 in order to be downtown at 8am. The sun wasn't too ( Read more... )

The kitchen and the bathroom are the only two places in my apartment that aren't carpeted (both are tiled). This is one of a few reasons that I keep Jasmine's litterbox in the bathroom. She has a covered litterbox because she has a tendency (who knows why) to raise her backside as she urinates. The covered box only stops the worst of the mess ( Read more... )
