Life's been pretty good. My parents were over to visit for the weekend. We took in a few museums, but mostly just rested and relaxed. Dad and I did some crosswords and sudoku puzzles. Mom and I played video games (by which I mean she watched me play Ico and Sly Cooper). It was great to just hang out with them. Sometimes I do feel like I moved too far from home.
Of course, as you've seen me post after other less pleasant visits, sometimes I feel like I've made the right choice. But I do love my parents, either way.
Work's been busy as usual. We keep changing focus and direction. It's hard to pick one thing to work on when everything wants to be done right away. I've started using a yoga ball as my desk chair at work full-time. It's straining my mid- to lower-back muscles. The chiropractor says that's my core muscles fighting back from being so severely atrophied. I guess that's good, so I'll keep it up. And it's encouraging me to take more stretch breaks, so it's win-win.
I'm still playing volleyball on Mondays. We had a great winning streak when I joined the team, but we've lost our last seven games. It's a bit annoying when some team members don't even try. I'm not there to win, just to have fun, but even so, it's more fun when our losses are closer games than they have been.
Jasmine's back down to a healthy weight, it seems. She's more or less adjusted to her diet, though she still bugs for extra food from time to time.
And your thought for the day: How can you know how just far you can reach, unless you try to reach too far?
