Today wasn't an easy day. Mom may need to go back to Lincoln for another "procedure". Fluid keeps building up between her right lung and the chest wall. They put in a drain so she could do that necessary thing called breathing, but they can't leave that in forever and unfortunately sshe is still producing a considerable amount of fluid. I was awakened at 4am by this strange noise. It was constant and I was half awake so I wondered what the cats had gotten into. Then I recognized thunder. It's been a busy week. Mom's been under the weather so I've spent a lot of time with her. She wasn't sleeping so they adjusted some meds and put her on a different sleeping pill and now she's like a zombie during the day. My mother just called to see if I was coming over for dinner tonight. She's going out with a friend so it's not like she's on her own. I spent all day Wednesday with her (it was her bday) so it's not like I haven't seen her. Last week I got a message from my ISP wanting to know when they could come and swap out my modem. Mine was rather old and they wanted to give me a newer one which would let me download faster. Bud's back in the hospital. I knew this last night because Kim, the home health worker called and told me. I knew mom would call me eventually, when she had something to tell me. Over 35 years ago my mother had a radical mastectomy on her right side. Back in those dark ages they took everything down to the bone, plus all the lymph glands, plus the radiation treatments pretty much blasted everything on the right side.
