On Saturday the 30th, the digital thermometer outside the kitchen window said that the peak temp in the last twenty-four hours had been 104 F, which I took to be device error, maybe the readings were not accurate at unlikely temps? Whoopsie.Yesterday I took the bus, my yearly safety sticker being expired, and it was raining buckets. The newsman at the bottom the escalator in Springfield-Franconia gave me my mini-paper, I thanked him and stepped lively onto the metal grate below the first step, and went down like Dagwood Bumstead. According to a humiture map D pulled up on yesterday's weather, our area had the higher apparent temperature in the nation.
