I love Anne Lamott's writing on, well, writing (Bird by Bird), and so I found this essay by Maria Popova, commenting on Lamott's writing about routine and ritual, really resonated with me as a creature of routine myself.

Realised I was being a bit parochial about our wild winter weather when I picked up on the news of the latest huge snowstorm to hit the Eastern US.

Hope you are all OK over there - we are well aware on this side of the pond that whatever weather we're getting, you've had it to contend with already, and about 20 degrees colder at that!
