Ashlyn's currently doing "crafts" that, as far as I can tell, involves cutting pieces of paper into small pieces and then taping them back together. As she was working on this, she told me "I like doing crafts, especially at home where the teachers at Sabbath School don't tell me how to do it" hee hee. I finally downloaded my camera, not many pictures, but I added some from the fireworks to this album and added a few more from last weekend to this album.

It's been a fun week. The curriculum we're doing at the moment is about weather & such and this week we studied one of the 4 seasons each day. The girls are well acquainted with the seasons, so we just had fun with it. Monday, for Autumn, we bobbed for apples and made pumpkin muffins. I keep forgetting to post, the girls got to watch cows being milked this past week. I've been meaning to do it for awhile now, the farm where we buy our milk had said we could come, but milking time is later in the day than we normally go to buy milk & it just hadn't worked into our schedule to go at the later time. Yesterday we took the girls to our city's Independence Day celebration. It's an all afternoon celebration at the big downtown park, I think there was alot of other stuff scattered around but we stayed in the kid's area all day. Realized I haven't updated here in awhile. Ladybug larvae came a couple weeks ago, they look NOTHING like ladybugs, go figure! We took the girls to a live butterfly exhibit today.  It was HOT today!!! Temps in the 90's, heat index over 100, not the ideal weather (from a comfort standpoint) for being in a totally closed up greenhouse, but the heat made the butterflies super active so that was awesome!
