Monday, Emmie got to spend the night for the first time in many weeks, for at least 7. We couldn't have her for the weeks that Ellen, my aide, wasn't here to work as it didn't work out for Bear in the mornings to drive her all the way to the group home and then to his school PLUS take care of me. My son called! He has no electricity -- came home Monday to his bathroom window being blown out, no power, having to boil water, but at least, as he says, he has his own bed to sleep in. got a call from my son -- he is visiting a friend in Illinois! I had completely forgotten he was going there this week. I am concerned, even worried, about my friends and especially my son who live in Houston. My son lives in The Heights, so they normally don't get flooded, but who knows, with this monster hurricane bearing down? He says that I don't seem to have Lupus and that my tests were all good. I *do,* however, have severe arthritis all over my body, and my knees are especially "severe." I am so happy! I finally finished the quit top for my son. I promised it to him at Christmas and never did get to it. I think because the pattern really is dizzying -- It is called Night and Day (he works a swing shift) and is a Jacob's Ladder.
