I am really sorry not to have given any actual update of any real value in weeks. It always just felt like such a big task, late at night when I was tired and not able to put words together in meaningful sentences. But the longer I go, the bigger the task gets, so ... I'm going to do my best to sum up what's been going on:

A brief catch up from things I apparently forgot to mention from prior posts:

The 8th-grade dance was Fri, June 8th. I hadn't anticipated Two would want to go, but at the point the permission slips were sent home, about a month in advance, he decided he did. ( The dance where he didn't dance. )

Last chance to participate in the Movie Quote guessing game. Most of the quotes have been identified, but there's a few that, to my surprise, have not yet been named. Give it a go!

Last week was pretty full: I subbed for the elementary librarian Mon and Tues, took MiniPlu to the doctor Tues evening after she had a pinkeye scare (thankfully nothing further developed), both kids had therapy, we spent Wed in PA for our friend's mom's funeral (more below), usual library Thurs a.m, and then - unbelievably - I had Friday free ( Read more... )

Many thanks to everyone who commented on my last post about Nala. ♥ She is still with us for now, mostly because by the time we were able to sit down and come to a consensus, it was already too late for Saturday. There should never be a week when you have to send out TWO condolence cards to friends. lanai's mum died last Monday, and then pegkerr's husband lost his battle with cancer on Friday. Just ... life is so unfair, sometimes. I've been having a hard time not putting myself into their shoes, and taking on their pain. I want so badly to be there for my friends ( Read more... )
