I was looking over my automobile insurance papers in the latest bill, which went up $50 since the last six month renewal. It's apparently based on driving at least 12,000 miles/year. Since mom passed last year and I'm not driving her to appointments, and I only drive when I need to go to the grocery store, or the doctor, or pharmacy for the most ( Read more... )

Called Social Security for my "check-up appointment" this morning. From the information I provided, the representative said it looks like I'll be eligible for the FULL SSI amount, instead of the lower amount I'm currently receiving. He said the higher amount should kick in within a couple months.

Got a notice to call Social Security this coming Monday. They say they need information from me to see if I'm still eligible for SSI, and that they regularly review cases. Since nothing has changed in regards to my health, hopefully there won't be any issue.

Just got word from the attorney that I have been approved for SSI benefits. Wasn't approved for the full SSDI, even though there is NO WAY I'd be able to work without the occasional risk of blacking out, and I'd be having to take WAY too many days off for doctor visits and procedures. Got an envelope from the Social Security Administration yesterday, wanting me and a witness to sign a form giving them permission to access updated medical records. After they receive the form back, I'll be scheduled for a hearing (after 75 days) via video teleconferencing at a particular location ( Read more... )

Got a call a few minutes ago from Myler Disability, but couldn't hear anything but those damn three-beep tones repeating over and over again. Called them back, left a message. Thinking this Straight Talk home phone service ain't all it's cracked up to be. The beeping thing has happened a few times when people call. They call back, it clears up. ( Read more... )
