When it rains, it pours. Living room TV decided to go to "meet its maker" this afternoon. Mom sprang for a replacement. I just spent a good portion of three hours taking the old one off the stand, leveling and putting up the new one, and connecting the cables.

Frankly, I'm exhausted.

I predict Andrew will be tired when he gets home from work this afternoon. He worked until 10pm last night, had to be back to work at 6am this morning.

Andrew starts his job at Walmart early tomorrow morning. They are starting him in the produce section. The job, like his McDonald's job was, will be part time (hardly anyone is hiring FULL TIME these days), but he'll be making more per hour now.

Andrew has a new boss who's a bit lazy, yapping on her phone instead of helping out after the Walmart McDonald's closes, so since it's left up to him alone to get things straightened up after the restaurant closes, he doesn't get off till nearly 10:30pm, instead of 10pm with the other boss ( Read more... )

Driving the son to work in around 40 minutes from now, then dashing by Brookshire's to pick up a few things.

Mom will probably be at the hospital at least three more days, according to the doctor. She's doing a lot better though, even kinda cheery. They moved her to another room (434), something to do with her insurance.

I REALLY wish management at Olive Garden would get their shit together. I was scheduled to go in at 11:30am today. At a little after 12:30pm, the manager sent me and Kenyata home, after three MORE dishwashers came in between 12 and 12:30. A few of the cooks were sent home early also. Assistant manager at the dollar store told me yesterday I should hear from the store manager today, with details to access online "welcome pack". Still waiting for a call. If I don't hear from her today, guess I'll go ahead and go in to work at Olive Garden in the morning. They only have me scheduled 12 hours next week. Hardly worth the drive over ( Read more... )

Haven't been at Olive Garden long. Still applying for jobs elsewhere. Not really impressed with Olive Garden. Only scheduled 18 hours this week. Considering the distance I have to drive, it's not paying off all that well.

First day returning to work after the pneumonia went as well as could be expected I guess. Not completely over it, have 5 more days of antibiotics. Was feeling "okay" until about 45 minutes before my shift was due to end. Then my head started spinning, arms and legs felt like they weighed 300 pounds each.
