Electricity went out for around 3 minutes last night during the storm. It went out again this morning for nearly 20 minutes, with the sun shining. Both times, had to reset the time and date on the living room computer. Guess it's time to replace the bios battery.

Well, THIS Monday is certainly starting on a sour note. Computer froze up, had to give it a "hard reboot" to get things going again.

Then again, it HAS been running constantly for several days.

A rarity happened this afternoon. I had the video stream of "This Week in Law" in one window, the IRC chat for the show open in XChat. Then a friend sends an IM, so another window popped up. Repositioned/resized everything to fit snuggly on the screen, as to remain visible.

Lesson I learned... I REALLY, REALLY need a larger computer monitor!

After restarting my main computer this morning, it wouldn't see the internet. It did, however, see the other computers on the home network, which immediately ruled out a hardware issue. Since my laptop was seeing the internet fine, I "googled" most of the morning looking for fixes ( Read more... )

Replacement rechargable battery for the 5+ year old Panasonic cordless phone arrived in the mail today. Currently on its initial 24-hour charge. Original battery was to the point it only functioned about 20 minutes when talking to someone. WAY past due to be replaced ( Read more... )
