Strange thing just happened. I was watching a streaming show on the bedroom TV, when the sound suddenly went off. Then, a few seconds later, some music I've never heard before starts playing over the soundbar. Just went into the closet and retrieved the "broadcast copies" on audio cassette of the first four episodes of my friends and I's fake radio shows of "Randy Haney's Life of Elvis" from 1981 to digitally re-transfer, since the CD-R copies I made in the late 90's no longer play properly. Current Mood: Ripping a CD I made back in the late 90's from a cassette tape of "Randy Haney's Life of Elvis" (one of the pretend "radio shows" my friends and I used to do) on an external Philips CD recorder to the PC to experiment with new audio editing software I've never used before, so I can learn about the software capabilities before I dig ( Read more... )

I was passing by the living room just now and noticed the sound from the TV coming through the A/V receiver was rather "echo-y".

Somehow, mom managed to switch the receiver to "Jazz Hall" ambience, probably by accidentally hitting the wrong button on the remote control.

I fixed it back before returning back here to the desktop.

I DO believe the Logitech headset I bought a few years ago is suffering from a bit of "dry rot"...

Wasn't getting audio out of my desktop speakers. Did some "digging", discovered the default audio device had switched to the desktop monitor... WHICH DOESN'T EVEN HAVE BUILT-IN SPEAKERS!!!

Finished encoding, cleaning the sound, burning, and labeling the first LP converted to CD using the new USB turntable. Works fine, except for the fact I have to use Audacity to record to the hard drive, then do the cleaning/editing in Roxio Easy Media Creator 10, since for some reason, I can't get any audio output during the recording process using ( Read more... )
