We are awaiting the train here in Carlisle that will take our Canadian guests to their next destination... Inverness.

We drove them, along with Andy and his car, to the station here. Nice sunny day.

Ayla had her birthday party with her friends at the trampoline place down in Carlisle today. We took three girls in the jeep with us and they took the rest in their multi seat car... I think there were about 9 kids altogether.

Today I'm down in Carlisle with Amelie and Ayla at their cousin Sophie's birthday party at a trampoline place.

Linda is with Adam who is feeling a bit ill. Their parents are away to some sort of concert, so we're taking care of them this weekend.

Earlier, we went to a dance show that Amelie was a part of at the Theatre Royal.

Long story short ... I recently found I had been expected to pay for repairs of my old car that I traded in. For some reason, I had wrongly assumed they were giving a trade-in price "as is" (which I thought had been a good deal as I knew there was something wrong with the car.) I had a heck of a time trying to get into work this morning.  Just before Annan on the A75, traffic stopped.  I should have tried to find out what was going on, but I just waited it out, expecting the traffic would start to move again….  but I ended up waiting and waiting.

We don't live in a big place...  Dumfries is a good sized town for this area, but not what you would consider a big place.  So, it's not like we get a lot of concerts and big-time entertainment acts here... not that we would probably go to very many anyway.  For the bigger acts, you'd need to go to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, or maybe Carlisle ( Read more... )

One more thing I wanted to mention about work, without being too specific... but we had an inspection a little while back that didn't go as well as everyone had hoped. This has elevated stress levels a bit... and made it a bit less of an Outstanding place to work, so to speak.

Organisational changes at work... resulting in me reporting to the Centre Manager at Carlisle instead if the FE Training Manager at Workington.

So... I predict more Level 2 work to add to my Level 3 work... in the future.

Changes in management structure at work... Interesting times... I can foresee more changes overall in the company. Secretly hope that there's a change that facilitates my retirement proceeded by some kind of payment. I'm 56, but would welcome some kind of reduction in hours, probably... or retirement.
