Lots of work and class done today!

"And I believe there’s good in everybody’s heart
Keep it safe and sound
With hope you can do your part
To turn a life around

I cannot believe my eyes
How the world’s finally growing wise
And it’s plain to see
Rapture inside of me
Is on the rise"

Today I finished The Goths in Spain, read a chapter on medieval chronology, met with Damien to talk about the Visigoths (hopefully intelligently!) went to class and had a FANTASTIC conversation with my classmates on defining the Middle Ages as a period chronologically and thematically. Then I went to the library with Kendra and Robert to get some monasticism books, chat about the medieval reasonings behind clerical celibacy, and solidify plans to go swing dancing together next Thursday! (*psyched!) Then after a LOVELY walk out in the sunshine with Casey around our new neighborhood (historic "gaslight square") and some dinner, I relaxed for a bit, and have been furiously trying to get this bibliography completed while listening to Dr. Horrible - those songs are catchy! (Hence the lyrics)

I am worried about this Anglo-Saxon presentation on Monday. I wish I had more time to get a few more books read in preparation. I wish I could go in there feeling like an expert, since I think this is a topic I'd really like to be an expert on someday, and I'd hate to screw up the first chance I get to start being the specialist... I need to stop worrying. I have the whole weekend to bone up on this stuff and read some really fantastic books before my 30 min. lecture on Monday.

That walk was great today. I really miss spending time with Casey. Between all the reading and stuff I'm doing I don't have tons of free time (I still haven't watched Obama's inauguration!) and Casey's only home like 3-4 waking hours a day, (1 for lunch, 1 between work and rehearsal, and 1-2 after rehearsal before bed). Never enough time!!!
