When I`m feeling that way, I find the best thing to do is either force myself not to think about it for about a week (and then presumably come back with a fresh perspective) or to get really drunk, pass out and wait for a lucid dream to light my path. Of course, your milage will almost certainly vary.
1. Wait till after your aikido test. 2. Go somewhere new, prefarably at least 50 miles away, so you can think fresh thoughts. Go alone or with a friend, your preference. 3. Do something fun for a while. 4. Think about different possibilities for your life in 2 years, and see what gets you excited. 5. Think about what would make you happier now. (not the future you, the now you) 6. See if there's something that would make both present you and future you happy. 7. Write it down and stick it on your door when you come home.

speaking of, i was thinking of asking you if you wanted to go camping with me one night soon - either august 3, 4, or 5. we could go to that santa cruz place you mentioned?
i've been needing to get away to think about my life stuff too and dave will be away that weekend at a writing retreat.
i was thinking of taking writing material, guitar, games, and yummy foods for cooking on a campfire.
think about it and let me know if you're up to it!
