I love my dog. I'm also pretty fond of my oak floors. My oak floors and my dog aren't likely to get along so well without an intermediary. Also, purple is a pretty color and Delta looks good in it.

Solution? Purple-toed puppy.

The more time I spend in Portland, the more I like it there and the more strongly I come to believe it's a place I can stay. Yesterday morning it was not raining. Yesterday afternoon it was. So it happened that in the morning, my coworker took the bus to work without incident. Yep, that about sums it up.

It doesn't seem that long, but I moved into this house a year and a day ago.

Anytime people ask me when I'm heading north, I say sometime between the beginning of April and the end of July. If things go as planned, I'll be leaving SF in less than a year.

Time is weird.

So waking up this morning was good. Moving into my new home tonight is good. In between, today sucked.

Not long ago, simbubba and I were curled up in the nook, discussing the various challenges and delights of our lives right now. At one point he said, "Yeah. Even when it sucks, it's good."

That pretty much sums up how I feel right now.
