So yesterday I spent a lot of time driving, since it takes about 5.5 hours to get from my mom and dad's to here. Kara listens to her DVD player in the car so she and I don't listen to the same things, so my entertainment has always been audio books or podcasts. Notes from the last few days
Been working a bit. Have traveled through lite snow to reach Columbia to visit with my family over the long MLK holiday. Celebrated my birthday with them. Taught my nieces a fun improve game... I missed yesterday it was very busy. 8 property tours at work... so no time between work and school pick up. Then as soon as homework was done we headed up to Bristol to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, then I came home to work on some freelance stuff. I collaped into bed. Well after reading the winners of the Golden Globes... I'm kinda glad I didn't watch it. I didn't recognize half the stuff nominated. I did watch Downton Abby last night though... and am very much looking forward to the series 3 premier of Sherlock this weekend. Which if the weather holds I will be watching with my parents :) -
Recipes
I don't think I'm a good blog reader. At least not when it comes to food. I enjoy browsing Pinterest. But any time I come across a recipe and follow the link and it's on a blog... I scroll past everything it says until I get to the recipe. If I like the ingredients I might actually read what they wrote when I go to make the recipe.. But even then I ( Read more... ) -
epiphany
I just realized my 2 lines or more idea is really just like posting on Twitter or Facebook. Especially since unless it's something particularly personal so I'm not bothering with messing with the privacy setting when I post. I guess I chose LJ for this because 1. Confession
I confess that every morning when I drop my daughter off at school, I can't help it but for a brief moment my mind goes to the families of Newton and of Lafayette and other schools who dropped their babies off for a normal day and then never got to see them again. Starting anew
So I've decided to try something new this year so I journal more. I'm going to call it "two lines or more" and I'm going to try to do it everyday. I think I quit journaling because I always felt like there wasn't anything worth writing about going on or it was just too busy to sit down and put it all out there. For my own memory
One thing I love about 5 is Kara's vocabulary and her mixing up words and trying to listen to lyrics but misunderstanding them. I admit that we are already listening to Christmas carols - it helps me get the Christmas shopping done and I have to get mine down early since my family does Christmas together on December 6th. Way behind but a few quick updates
- September - The Disney trip was awesome, we had a wonderful time despite our flight getting canceled and having to drive at the last minute. At least we didn't have to miss a full day and a half of vacation like we would have if we had waited for the next available flight. And we did get a full refund on our tickets.
