Is it sad that one of the highlights of my day yesterday was going to Trader Joe's? Because I love Trader Joe's. I really should shop there regularly for my groceries: for most things, it's actually cheaper than Safeway. I finished Kristin Cashore's Graceling yesterday, and really enjoyed it. It's a quite good YA fantasy that succeeds more on the strength of its characters than its worldbuilding. I basically use delicious to keep up on fic in smaller fandoms and fandoms I don't pay as much attention to, since it's easier than subscribing to a million random fandom newsletters. But delicious surfing by tags is a bit of a hit and miss proposition, because, obviously, there's no universal tagging system, and some fandoms just don't use ( Read more... )

Summer book-reading has slowed down a little, because I've been reading some excellent fic instead.
