Spock, oblivious to what was going on, noticed the time and decided to go on his routinely walk outside. He was doing this to note the change in weather and how well he was adjusting to it.
But this particular day, as he was walking, he saw a little girl. By her mannerisms, Spock could tell she was sad. "Hello." He said in a rather flat tone. Perhaps he could cheer her up.
Pearl was a little surprised to hear someone, and dropped her ball as she looked around. She didn't recognize this person, but then, she hadn't exactly been seeing that many people. She was still rather shy, after all. "Hello," she replied quietly, picking her ball up again.
She didn't look that lonely, did she? Shaking her head at the first question, she replied, "I was just surprised. My name is Pearl."
After a moment's consideration, she put the ball down and gently shook Spock's hand. She didn't know if her powers could hurt them there, but better safe than sorry.
When a ball landed in front of him, Ulquiorra turned to see where it had come from. Seeing that it belonged to a small child and had probably just bounced away from where she was playing, he picked it up and tossed it lightly back toward her without a word.
Fletcher was out near the edge of the school grounds, just walking around amongst the trees. He'd been a little worked up lately, but being out in nature helped calm him down, so there he was. He wasn't really expecting to see anyone else, so it surprised him when he caught sight of Pearl standing nearby, bouncing a ball.
"I'm just going for a walk, that's all..." He didn't really feel like explaining that he was upset, or what he was upset about. The only person who really needed to know that was his brother. "What're you doing, Pearl?"
"Just playing," she said, bouncing her ball a little harder- the result was it flying up a few feet above her head. Ok, so that was apparently too hard. "I haven't played with my ball for a while."

He offered her his hand as it was polite to do in American Society.
