Characters: Pearly, open (preferably to those with super strength, otherwise someone might get hurt. Unless you WANT your character to get accidentally knocked around by an eight year old, and then by all means, post. XD

When a ball landed in front of him, Ulquiorra turned to see where it had come from. Seeing that it belonged to a small child and had probably just bounced away from where she was playing, he picked it up and tossed it lightly back toward her without a word.
So, she was trying to play, after all. He'd never thought of himself as being an 'approachable' person, but since she didn't seem to be annoying or obnoxious, he supposed he could make himself be a little nicer than normal.
"Hello," he greeted, tossing the ball back once more. "You seem a little young to be going to school here."
"Hello!" Pearl smiled, catching the ball and tossing it lightly again. "I guess so. But I've had some of my powers for a while, and then more came but I don't know how to use those yet."
"What sort of powers do you have?" he asked. To his knowledge, most mutations happened around puberty. To have powers that young was surprising. Particularly if she'd had some of them for 'a while'. Looking at her, he thought she was probably somewhere between seven to nine years old. She could possibly be a tall six year old or an especially short ten year old, too, but he thought seven, eight or nine was the most likely based on her size and facial features.
It was pretty unusual, but part of the reason she got half of them early on was because he family knew that it existed, and so trained it to come out. "I'm a spirit medium! I can channel dead souls through my body." However grim this may have sounded, she seemed rather proud of them. "And I just got superstrength, too."
She tossed the ball again, with a little more force than she meant to.
It was good that she'd mentioned super strength when she did. He'd managed to brace himself just enough that she didn't knock him on his rear end, though the ball had still be thrown with enough force that he was slightly off balance.
"I can see that," he remarked. That ball had been thrown with much more force than a child her age and size would normally have been capable of. "Has Mr. Strife helped you figure out how much you can lift yet?"
"I'm sorry," Pearl said when she realized that she had thrown a bit too hard that time, but brightened once Cloud was mentioned. "A little bit. I don't remember the number, but it was a lot, and he said I might be able to do more if I practiced!"
She caught the ball, and made sure to return with less force than before.
"It's fine," said Ulquiorra. "You don't need to apologize. It's not as if you hurt me. If you'd like, I can spot you while you lift some weights, and then you'll have some idea of what you can lift. I can lift more than a normal human."
He tossed it back again. He resigned himself to the fact that he was, in fact, playing a game of ball with a little girl. She was polite enough and not so active that she was annoying, so he supposed he didn't mind for a short while.
"Spot?" Pearl was sure what that meant, at least not like this. Spots were like circles, or you could spot something by seeing it, but why would he spot her? She tossed the ball back to him.
"Ah...it's a weight-training term," he explained as he caught the ball, realizing a little girl like her would probably have never heard it before.
"When you lift weights, you're supposed to do it with someone else - especially when you don't know exactly how much you can lift. Then if you lift too much, the other person can help you and make certain you don't get hurt. They're also there in case your arms get tired, to help put the weights back in their original spot."
He tossed the ball back to her, hoping the explanation made a little sense to her, at least. He didn't know if he could explain it in simpler terms.
"Ooh." That made much more sense. She chased after the ball briefly and tossed it back. "Thank you! That might help a lot." Pearl had been a little too scared to do much with weights right now, after all.
