SO. AS PROMISED, a number of members of the Brotherhood of Mutants will be sent on missions this week - some of these will also involve characters from the Xavier Institute, so if you volunteered over here then you should probably read this post!
GROUP ONE: The Great Attractor (tsuuuuun), Inferno (maskedinferno) and Aura (orangescntdhero) are sent on a recon mission to Corel, Nevada, a small town where reports have been filtering in of the same mysterious illness for which Boulder City has been quarantined. Rumours have begun to circulate that the disease affects only mutants; your job is to find out if this is true.
GROUP TWO: Hope (numbbelligerent), Red Helen (crystalshackles) and The Melodious Nocturne (melodyofwater) are sent to meet with a contact in Salem Center, but their mission will be derailed when they run into a group of students from the Xavier Institute supervised by Jessica Jones: Alfred F Jones, Eli Bradley, Belle Laurent and Percy Jackson.
GROUP THREE: Flicker (fuckpicasa), Mama (meanerthanmama) and Beanstalk (xylokinesis) are sent on a supply run.
GROUP FOUR: Galaxia (gldnmetal_queen), Madotsuki (donotpinch) and Switch (switchingonyou) are sent to New York City. Galaxia and Madotsuki are to cause a (violent) distraction while Switch infiltrates the New York offices of Tricell, Incorporated to steal documents relating to Project Unicorn, which the Brotherhood's Tricell contacts report to involve a 'cure' for the X-gene ... This group, too, will find themselves running into some Institute-y trouble in the form of Tanaka Hajime, Alanna Trebond, Azula Zheng and Sephiroth Crescent, with Leon Kennedy as their mandatory staff supervision.
GROUP FIVE: Ellipsis (usedhypnosis) and Lotus (lotusofsteel) will accompany Kurogane (blacknihon) to Madagascar to rendezvous with another Brotherhood member who is coming out of Genosha with important documents.
GROUP SIX: Oricalcon (tailtothethief), Dark Mousey (thievingwings) and Skip (gottasteelit) are going to DIAMOND CITY, TEXAS for a DIAMOND HEIST.
GROUP SEVEN: Rune (yepnorway) and Tharkay (fuckyeaheagles) are sent to infiltrate Genosha to see if they can find out more about what's going on in there than those American reporters did. (The individual Kurogane's group is meeting is not really competent at infiltration or information gathering.)
For EVERYONE ELSE IN THE BROTHERHOOD, we'll be putting up an open Brotherhood thread tonight for the Bromarine docking in, allowing its inhabitants to visit the shore, buy things, get some fresh air, etc. They'll be docking in Boston Harbor far more surreptitiously than should be possible for a submarine this big and staying there for 24 hours. Ex-Xavier-Institute students who bring their cellphones with them will receive phone calls an hour into their time on-shore.
Planning/discussion threads for everything mentioned here are in the comments to this post, so go ahead and throw out any ideas you guys might have about who'll do what etc. If you have any questions or problems, about individual missions or just generally, feel free to comment here, too.
The actual logs for the individual missions will go up in the next few days, once we're sure there are no unforseen complications that mean characters need to be moved (let us know), and so that you get a chance to discuss what you're going to do. We'll email you when your character's mission thread goes up unless you ask us not to!
If you are one of the many many volunteers for Institute running into the Brotherhood shenanigans who didn't get to join in this time round, don't worry - there will be other opportunities in the future!
