Easy prep meal. You can put onions, carrots, potatoes, celery, in the bottom of a 4.5 quart crock pot Then take your pick of beef (roast or thick steaks), pork(roast or thick chops) or chicken breast and the corresponding broth and some water to cover every thing. I tend to season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Instead of broth you can use condensed soups. I have been know to use cream of celery, Cream of chicken, Chicken noodle, French onion, cream of mushroom, and several other types. You just need some water then. You might need to cans of soup and 2 cans of water depending on how much stuff you have in the crock pot. I cover the food with liquid. Depending on how thick the meat is and how much I cook on low 6-8 hours.

Subscribe to cooking magazines, so you'll get a regular influx of new recipes that you can read and decide to try. I strongly recommend Cooking Light and Taste of Home/Light and Tasty.

The lovely lady I work for has a super keen book that are 20 minute meals - and all of those we have cooked have been awesome. I will see if I can find the exact title.

I use allrecipes.com myself when I run low on ideas.

And my tagine rocks socks - it seems elegant and fancy, but it's super easy slowing oven cooking and sooooo good.

Tip: learn to experiment with spices. Buy high quality (penseys.com is my fave) and only small amounts. Use only one or two at a time or a single blend. A perfect spice can make a blah dish wonderful!

With your variety of favored ingredients, I think you might do well with some Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines, as well as with classics like casseroles and other meat & potatoes food ( ... )

Oh, you bring up a good point that I forgot in my original post - I don't WANT Devin to be picky like me and I want her exposed to all kinds of food. I hate being picky, but some foods just taste SO bad to me :P.

*laughs* I know they do... I'm strange. But I don't want her to hate foods just cause I do. :P I want to raise her well rounded. I just might need some help to do it, food wise.
