A return to my
help in the kitchen post.
A few of you asked WHAT I intend to cook with said tools and pantry items. Good question.
I'm... not sure ;).
I'm picky. I don't like tomatoes (including sauce and ketchup), mushrooms, olives, peppers, black pepper, most beans (I do like chickpeas), lime, pineapple, peas, lettuce (not a salad fan), ranch... those are I think the major things. I LOVE garlic. I like almonds, berries, apples, bananas, milk, sugar (I know...), chocolate, peanuts, most meats/poultry/fish (I LOVE fish and seafood), broccoli, spinach, cinnamon, ginger, wheat pasta, squash, eggplant, zuccini, pumpkin, avacado, plantains, honey, corn, horshradish, spicy mustard, onion, carrots... I could go on.
I adore breakfast-type foods, 'cept sausage or hash browns :P. I LOVE sushi. I occasionally live on turkey or pb&j sandwiches (on whole grain). Grilled cheese too. I'm very into tea - I love green, chai, mint, all kinds. I'm weak for chips. Smoothies are awesome. I love fruit and yogurt parfaits. Pizza w/o sauce is yummy. Bubble tea is comfort food. I love buffalo wings, though blue cheese is a must as I am wimpy. Burgers, hot dogs... I do lean toward comfort foods. I like hummus, lamb, couscous. Not really into Mexican. I like ground meat, but I'm not huge into beef. Soup is good. My sweet tooth is legendary, and I do bake pretty well. Chocolate - the darker, the better. And I was doing Weight Watchers.
I intend to start cooking for my family. I want to cook healthy for Devin, set a good example, as well as getting Dave and I to eat healthier. I want to figure out how to cook quicker, though of course not everything I want to cook has to be quick. And I want it to be yummy. I want to share good food with my daughter.
Ideas? Books?? Websites?? Help!!!
