I spent the day in the Seeley, reading & making notes. Quel surprise.

The evening was much nicer, as I had a very nice tea (sausages and mash and baked beans) and went to watch Dr Who (although see how the BBC were again LYING about their schedule so we had to watch strange orange people cavort in swishy frocks and on rollerskates.

This morning I was up bright and early so as to be able to submit my Special Subject Long Essay at 9am. This plan was scuppered somewhat by my being forced to trek about the place in search of a shower: the two in my bathroom had no showerheads & the two in the downstairs bathroom were locked... I spent a very pleasant time on the phone to mchobson this afternoon. Obviously I had to ring to thank her for my hopping lederhosen. Which are most fine. And indeed what I had seen and thought "must get those for Marie". Further proof we are actually the same person. ( Read more... )

Well, I spent until six o'clock with Volume Two of "The Russian Provisional Government 1917" and have drawn the conclusion that the Russian peasantry should not have been allowed to become literate, because literacy enabled them to leave behind some spectacularly mad documents.
