Work this evening = none

May 14, 2006 00:25

I spent the day in the Seeley, reading & making notes. Quel surprise.

The evening was much nicer, as I had a very nice tea (sausages and mash and baked beans) and went to watch Dr Who (although see how the BBC were again LYING about their schedule so we had to watch strange orange people cavort in swishy frocks and on rollerskates.

I was not terribly impressed with this evening. I can see how these cybermen could be different from ye traditional ones as they were parallel universe ones, but I am afraid there was rather a lot of laughing over the screams of terror & anguish. I almost slid off my chair as the dubious-east-emd-second-hand-car-salesman-who-had-somehow-ended-up-operating-an-evil-project-for-the-warped-mastermind began listening to music to drown it out... Also, the cybermen WERE quite far from stealthy, but it was good to see their tradition of walking in a straight line continues. If you find this intimidating, think instead they look REMARKABLY like a Guide Company clearing up after camp & suddenly much more amusing.

Post Dr Who there was some JCR lazing-chat. And then I went and sat in Jennie's room for 3 hours talking Guiding. We surprised ourselves. Yes, yes we did...

exams, dr who, procrastination, guiding, newnham, work
