Well, today has been an excellent day for procrastination. I am wondering if I could represent GB in it at the next Olympics. *lesigh*
I have had a go at editing the Long Essay though. Admittedly there is still plenty to do (like a bit on Russian national identity & strengthening of the conclusion) but I am much vastly happier than I was about the whole thing.
Tomorrow morning I get to go and watch a Russian film ("Merchant Bashkirov's Daughter") from 1913. Apparently it is based on a REAL gruesome-murder-scandal-drama. Oh goody. What fun.
I shall then devote the rest of the day to playing with my essay so on Friday I can make some kind of attempt at understanding HAP. I suspect to understand HAP properly you need to experiment with mind altering substances, so perhaps I should just start devising plans for what happens when I am faced with things like:
'Knowledge is power.'
Can peasants be nationalists?
'Chopin is culture, as is double-entry book-keeping.' Discuss.
'All history is cultural history.'
Other than panicking, evidently. Mnyleurghle.
In other news, my 4CaST hoody (allegedly a small, so I can only assume C has gone slightly mad and got us men's hoodies, how nice...) is HUGE and GIGANTIC and not only can I quite easily fit Giraffe into it with me I suspect there's room for a whole zoo & then some. *rolls eyes* But it is a bit exciting cos it does say on it that I am on 4CaST with the dates & everything.
