Flossing Monkeys

Japanese researchers have found some monkeys in Thailand using human hair to floss their teeth and the mother monkeys are teaching their offspring to floss (after meals?)

But how'd they get the hair to use? Is it weird this interests me more than the flossing?

I assume they live near human settlements, and they just pick it up off the ground.

I know humans shed but it still seems a bit of hair to just find often enough to make this a habit. *shrug*
