When I was a kid, the Red Sox almost always won when I went to Fenway Park. Jim Rice and Roger Clemens had stellar performances at the first game I ever attended (in 1986), and I remember at least one spectacular extra-innings victory during the late '80s. Yeah, I think it was beginner's luck for a while. Now it's back to the Red Sox tradition of acquiring players who are past their prime.

You're so right about the garbage trucks. It's horrible.

So far I haven't had any real wardrobe mishap because of riding to work (besides wearing a kind of dirty shirt once). I'm assuming someday I'm going to forget my entire work outfit though and hilarity will ensue.

Did I ever tell you about the guy who used to work in my office whose clothes supposedly fell out on the way here, and he walked around all day in Spandex? It was awful.

I like how you wrote "supposedly" as if it were part of a grand scheme to be able to to wear Spandex all day (which it could have been).

Well, he seemed oddly proud of his biking outfit. And he really shouldn't have. People offered to drive him over to TJ Maxx to buy new clothes, but he declined.
