Nice pics, though I must admit that I was quite distracted by the food-pics... *sighs*

And if you think that the two first episodes of Maou were overdramatized, wait until you watch the other ones. :D But it's a good drama. :)

Thank you! :) The food pics distract me, too. *looks at the time* Is it time for lunch yet?

Heh, the drama wastes a lot of time on these ridiculous long shots of Ohno's face - the director definitely needs some lessons in moderation! Either that, or there simply isn't enough script to fill out the time. But I am intrigued enough with the story to continue. :)

*_* Your food pictures are always so gorgeous. I'm ready for lunch now. Glad the soup turned out well, yum yum yum!

Thank you so much, honey. :) The soup was great, very vegetabley, if you know what I mean, and I felt so virtuous eating it, but also decadent from the sharp, salty feta. ;) (next time I think I will also use the mint - I just couldn't find any bunches worth a damn at the market, boo)

Oh, and I am so hungry reading this and looking at those pictures! Fresh avocado and tomatoes are simply a WONDERFUL combination. I love cutting up several of each raw and just going to town while I've got a good book. Delicious. ♥

♥ *glee* Hungry-making photos are what I aim for! (of course, in the most non-cruel way) ;)

I was very sad this morning when I realized I'd left my perfectly ripe tomato at home instead of bringing it with me for lunch today (I can't complain too much, however, because I brought other tasty treats). But, on the bright side, I'll be able to do exactly what you describe, probably tomorrow: cut up tomato & avocado, smidge of extra virgin olive oil, bit of coarse salt - and feaaaaast on the yum.

I'm glad you think so! The colors were exactly that vibrant, too - no photoshopping in the least! I would have taken photos of the others, but the others were too detailed and not so boldly colorful to show up well in a photograph.

Beautiful pictures! How big are the bowls? From your pictures they look huge :) Btw, a few of my friends from the summer programme in Turkey are now studying in Washington. Do you have any tips for good places to visit? ;)

PS. Love your Faye icon!

Thank you! I'm glad you like the photographs. :) And you're right, the bowl are really large.

I'm so sorry I'm only getting around to replying to your comment now! Do you know where your friends live (what neighborhood?). My favorite place to go in DC is actually where I photographed these bowls, the Smithsonian Museum of Asian Art. For visitors I would definitely recommend a walk through the Georgetown neighborhood, and if they go there, to walk off the main drag (M Street) and go up into the residential streets above M Street where there are many lovely townhouses. Also in Georgetown is the Dumbarton Oaks estate gardens, which are always lovely and serene.

I hope they have a chance to walk around the monuments a little and visit some of the other museums, too, especially the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. I also love to send people to the Jefferson building of the Library of Congress (and tell them to take an hour-long tour to get the most out of their visit - the Jefferson building of the Library of Congress has a ( ... )
