When I was at the Sackler Gallery recently, I snapped a few photos of these absolutely stunning examples of contemporary Japanese porcelain. All of the exhibited pieces were amazing, but the intense blue of these captivated me.

Bowl; I think this is also by Shindo Susumu, b. 1952
ETA: I finally watched the first two episodes of Maou! And they weren't bad - waaay overdramatized, but Toma made up for it.
A few recent food pics - a dinner from last week, and dinner last night (Kayotic's soup was delish, Mer).
Thai-seasoned ground beef with scallions, topped with fresh avocado and served in a crisp leaf of napa cabbage. Accompanied by whole wheat naan.
Closeup.
Kayotickitchen's sweet pea & spinach soup (I added a lot more garlic, however, and I only used basil) topped with fresh cucumber & crumbled feta. On the side: piadine (an amazing Italian flat bread which came in our recent care-package from Italy), slices of American prosciutto, and enormous grape tomatoes. Very satisfying.
