Translation request and my failure as a reader of literature

Sep 07, 2006 10:28

I know, I am being totally lazy...because I have a translation request for my flist. I've been obsessively listening to Tsukiyo no monogatari (Kinki Kids) and as I first fell in love with the tiny bit that is part of the "Japanesque Medley" KAT-TUN performance, I'm now dying to know what the song is actually about (a complete translation is not ( Read more... )

Tsukiyo no Monogatari is actually already on my "next song to romanise and attempt to translate" list, but I'm a bit swamped with stuff at the moment, so if no one gets back to you earlier about it, I'll link you when I'm done ^_^;;

Grazie mille

I assume that means "Thank you"? ^_^;; You're very welcome dear.

And I see you've received another version of the translation before I could finish mine, lol ^_^;;

Yes, "grazie mille" is "thank you very much" in Italian, my boyfriend's language which I am struggling to learn. :)

And I can never have too many translations! I added yours into this post, and it's awesome to have the romaji. *hugs* You spoil me!

The title of the song means Moonlight Story and the lyrics are something like ( ... )

Wow...just, wow.

No way, that is SO NOT disappointing - it's unbelievably gorgeous and breathless and wonderful, and it totally lives up to my expectation of the song. THANK YOU SO MUCH! *loves you*

The reason that "Hoshikuzu no sparkle" makes me cringe is because it's just a little too cheesy, even for me, the biggest sap in the world.

You're welcome. I can't promise the lyrics are entirely accurate, but well, you get the idea. And I agree, they're quite breathtaking and well, kind of sexy.

I have the Complete Works of Oscar Wilde. Thanks for reminding me of that story - it's wonderful but very, very scary and sad. The ending made me meep and shudder!

Goes off to hunt for Oscar Wilde short stories

PS: There are many, many books out there that we will never read - but that's part of the fun. Besides, there are a great many bad books that you will never have to suffer through as well!

*sigh* I know...I just wish that I could download directly to my brain or somehow escape into a virtual reality system (where time expands to accomodate my reading list) or that I had a Time Turner...or something. I feel like I'm wasting my time when I'm not reading more all the time. It's totally stupid to feel that way, I know.

I just love Wilde's language! It's exquisite language and powerful ideas.

I am really, really enjoying Dorian Gray so far! I've never seen the film version. Perhaps in this case, imagination is really the only way to "see" this novel.
