I had my first class tonight! It was 601-Information Use, which sounds dreadfully boring on the syllabus and has a dry-sounding textbook, but at least the professor (a medical librarian at Johns Hopkins during the day) seems nice and fun. Plus, she's a lefty. :) I'm still not sure about the subject matter, but hopefully it'll get better further

Congratulations on your first day! Don't forget - the campus may be big, but the program isn't huge. By the end of the semester almost everyone will have a familiar face and will be in your next set of classes as well. Also don't forget that these are people set up with similar interests. They are nice, organized, and have a general love of books.

Yes, thankfully the program is only about 300 people I think, so at least I'll recognize that set of people within a few months. It's still unnerving to wander about the campus with tens of thousands of people though.
