I generally don't like to think of myself as one who wishes bad things for people. I feel a little bit of shame for my glee at the death of Jerry Falwell, not much, but some -- there are a lot of well-meaning but gullible folks out there who were hurt by his death, and I sincerely hope that his legacy does not grow posthumously ( Read more... ) -
Motivation
So tonight I registered for the GREs -- August 23rd. This gives me a little under a month to really feel good about things -- I've done some GRE prep in the past (and I pwn vocabulary), but if anyone who's taken the damn thing can give any advice, it would be welcome.
Other than that, I'll take all the good ju ju I can get. :) -

A Great Evil has Passed...
So the Rev. Jerry Falwell, the best-known resident of Lynchburg, Virginia, died today. Rather than go on a long diatribe against the man, which I have certainly done in the past, I can simply say that my concern now is that he fade away rather than becoming some iconic figure for his misguided puppets. -
The Urge
That urge is boiling away again -- no, not that urge (perverse little monkeys aren't you?), the one desiring a massive, even epic boardgame, the sort not for the weak of heart. However, being in Alexandria faces me with the problem of finding folks interested/willing to sink a solid 3-5 hours into a boardgame of such scale.
